Genetic analysis of Canine adenovirus type 2 strains circulating in Turkey from past to present

Canine adenoviruses (CAV) can infect both domestic and wild canid. Adenovirus Type-1 (CAV-1) Type-2 (CAV-2) are the cause of infectious canine hepatitis laryngotracheitis, respectively. The epidemiology virus is not clear enough in most territory. For this purpose, data on Turkey, which a bridge between continents, were examined. Comparing sequence strains circulated field over ten-year period revealed genetic heterogeneity. To make comparision total 32 fecal samples collected from shelter dogs with diarrhea 2011 was used. Firstly, isolation performed MDCK cells cytopathogenic effects observed 4/32 samples. Secondly, supernatant four isolates found positive for E3 gene CAV-2 by PCR. Strains placed different branch other Turkish under same subgroup phylogenetic tree. According to partial analysis, seven amino acid substitutions detected strains. Due Shannon entropy value ConSurf all them indicated as important antigenic sites. This study pointed out possible heterogeneity among Turkey.
